Tuesday, October 11, 2022

For many, entrepreneurship is synonymous with starting a company, but over the last few years we have worked hard to broaden this narrow understanding – starting a company is just one manifestation of entrepreneurship. The term has expanded to cover many other ways that an entrepreneurial mindset can be applied to different situations such as social entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, creative problem solving, opportunity recognition, technology management, innovation and career development, etc. In this session we will focus on the aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset and how to use that mindset for innovation with a focus on business modeling.

Presented by Robert Macy, a faculty member in the Management Department at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Director of the Entrepreneurship Center. He received his Ph.D. in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Oregon, a Masters of Business Administration, also from the University of Oregon, a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Washington State University. Robert has been an entrepreneur for over 30 years and a founder of companies ranging from professional service firms, to tech startups, to pioneering firms in interactive entertainment.

This course is approved for continued education credits for HR professionals.
