Board Boot Camp

Every Tuesday in April, 12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Zoom Training

Join us for this nonprofit board training to become a certified Board Leader! (must complete all four trainings to become certified). Each training is $30, or sign up for all four for $100.

April 7 - Board Roles and Responsibilities with Greta Leach of Mission Matters
This training provides a comprehensive overview of the key roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members. Participants will gain clarity on governance, fiduciary duties, and strategic leadership while exploring best practices for effective board engagement.

April 14 - Nonprofit Financials and Budgeting & Fundraising Essentials with Michael Porter of Farm Credit of America and Natalie Lukens, Community Engagement Strategist.
This session aims to equip nonprofit board members with essential skills in understanding financial statements, budgets, and key financial indicators. It will provide practical tools for enhancing financial oversight, empowering informed decision-making, and ensuring your organization's fiscal health. Ideal for both new and experienced members, this workshop demystifies nonprofit financials and strengthens fiduciary responsibilities. Additionally, it covers effective fundraising strategies and the role of board members in building donor relationships. Whether you're new to fundraising or looking to enhance your skills, this session offers valuable insights for organizational success.

April 21 - Become a Board Ambassador with Melissa DeLaet of the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation
This training equips nonprofit board members with the skills and confidence to serve as passionate and effective ambassadors for their organization. Participants will learn how to represent their nonprofit’s mission, engage stakeholders, and build lasting relationships to strengthen community support and impact.

April 28 - Strategic Visioning with Charity Adams of Vision Fusion
This virtual workshop introduces executive directors of small nonprofits to the concept of strategic visioning and its transformative potential. Participants will learn what strategic visioning is, how it differs from strategic planning, and the benefits it brings to their organizations, including greater clarity, focus, and alignment with their mission. Through engaging discussions and real-world examples, attendees will explore how a clear vision can inspire stakeholders, guide decision-making, and enhance long-term impact.
